Chargers Bolt By Titans
Roscoe Parrish Returns 2 Kicks For TDs In SD Win
Week 2 was a week of redemption for the Chargers as they picked up their 1st win of the year against Tennessee. Phillip Rivers once again started at QB for the Chargers despite many Andy Dalton cheers from the crowd. He had a solid day going 12-18 for 184 yards. The guy who really lead the Chargers was once again dependable RB Chris Ivory.. he touched the ball an astounding 32 times for 177 yards and 4 TDs... not very flashy stats carry wise but it gets the job done. The Titans came into this week looking to take control of the AFC South being heavily favored in this match up, QB Jake Locker tried his best to rally the Titans going 12-26 with 2 TDs & 2 INTs racking up 320 yards. Turnovers by Locker really killed the Titans.. not only did he throw 2 picks but he fumbled while running the ball. Chargers OLB Melvin Ingram didn't make life any easier for Jake as he got into the backfield on multiple occasions racking up 5 tackles (4 for a loss) and 2 sacks... this kid is special mark my words. Rookie TE Lardarius Green (3 receptions,37 yards) did a great job replacing an injured Antonio Gates this week which is no easy feat.. but it was returner Roscoe Parrish who was a star on this day returning a kick and a punt for a TD making him the 1st man in our history to do so. Titans RB Chris Johnson said that he was looking to make more of an impact this offseason and he did just that rushing for 86 yards on 13 carries for 2 TDs... he also helped through the air catching 2 passes for 91 yards and a TD. San Diego succeeded in gaining momentum in the AFC West while the Titans fall back a bit in the South. Good win for SD, Bad loss for Tennessee... Titans 28 Chargers 45.
What we learned (Chargers): Chris Ivory was a free agent steal for the chargers.. and boy do the chargers have something special in Roscoe Parrish.
What we learned (Titans): Jake Locker needs to make better decisions with the football if they are going to make a playoff run.
