Defense Shines In Raiders Win

The preseason kicked off for the Raiders & Cowboys Sunday in Oakland. The Raiders offense looked fine tuned as the Cowboys 1st teamers seemed stunned in the 1st quarter. QB Carson Palmer put all trade rumors aside and led the raiders to 2 touchdown drives going 6-10 for 89 yards and 2 TDs. As for star RB Darren McFadden, he had a modest 8 carries for 26 yards. In his most extensive action yet, QB Terrelle Pryor played like a project should... shaky. He went 7-13 with a TD and 2 interceptions. On defense Oakland looked amazing, lead by Aaron Curry's 6 tackles and 3 sacks the Raiders forced multiple 3 and outs. Now for Dallas.... the Cowboys just couldn't get their offense going tonight, Romo struggled a lot going 1-5 for 18 yards and 2 picks. If that wasn't bad enough they could only muster up 12 yards rushing the entire game, backup WR Kevin Ogletree was a bright spot for Dallas with 5 receptions for 73 yards. I'd be surprised if he didn't make the roster. Dallas LBs look great in the 2nd half of play... Bruce Carter had 8 tackles (2 for losses) and a pick 6, while teammate Dan Connor had 3 tackles and 2 ints.

What we learned (Raiders): This team looked good for a team on the rebuild... i think they can contend sooner than expected.

What we learned (Cowboys): This isn't the end of the world for the Cowboys, although Romo's performance is a little scary i think they'll rebound.
